Sleeping Birds

Amy paused on the stairs as she caught sight of her children. Bruce stood beside his wife, one step lower than her, and followed her gaze. From their view, Amy and Bruce could see all four of their sons asleep on the floor.

The petite brunette looked at her husband with soft eyes before she spoke, "I wonder what caused that to happen."

Amelia Wayne smiled as she watched Bruce study the lounge from his spot with a furrowed frown and intense stare. A giggle escaped her lips at her husband's face.

"They held a movie marathon during the night, Mrs. Wayne," a crisp English lilt commented.

Amy and Bruce looked down to see Alfred Pennyworth in the hallway. The Wayne Butler held a feather duster in on hand and rag in his pocket.

"I'm not going to ask what they were watching," she muttered as she passed her husband to move down the stairs.

In the entrance of the family room, she pulled out her cell phone and took a few pictures. It was rare that the boys spent time like this together. She enjoyed moments like the one in front of her.

Bruce wrapped an arm around Amy's waist as they watched the sleeping boys. All cuddled together in a cute pile. Amy smiled at the sight of her robins.

Forsaken and Forgotten

One of three is she, eyes of light lavender which glow draw all in.

Valaria gazed out the window, her violet eyes glazed. Her focus not on the vast forest in front of her, but on her master and king. She knew that Zera and Duma had been called by Edric, yet she had not. With a clenched heart, worry moved through Valaria's empty veins. Thoughts of her King not wanting to see her clouded her mind. Questions echoed constantly. Did she do something to displease her Master? Had she offended him in someway?

So many thoughts and questions all speaking loudly. Her fists clenched tightly with her nails digging into the palms of her hands.

Forgotten and forsaken by the one she loves...

Current Favorites

Hey everyone, not a story or poem today. I'm going to talk about some of my favorites, that I've been obsessed with lately.

Yu-Gi-Oh: I totally watched the original show when I was kid. I've been getting back into it. I now have an OC in the Yugi'verse. I'll make a post later about her. But this brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. I've even started to watch the spin-offs. I didn't watch GX or 5D's, but I was very much against Zexal when it started to air. I'm not very far into GX, but so far I'm enjoying it.

Pirates of Caribbean: This is another childhood favorite, I also have an OC in this 'verse as well. The love story of Elizabeth and Will was one of my favorites growing up. When Pirates 5 came out, I was so happy that we would get some conclusion to Willabeth. But apparently, we're getting a Pirates 6 that will focus on Willabeth and Davy Jones... I'm interested to see what will happen, because the end credit scene left a lot of unanswered questions.

Original Work: I don't know if I mentioned this, but one of my new year's resolutions for 2017 was to write a little bit everyday. I've been doing my writing at night, before bed to help unwind. I've finished my second journal, and started my third. So far, the first few entries are original works. I'm glad that I've been able to branch out and do more original work. Hopefully I'll be able to produce more for the blog.

BBC Space Race: This is the newest one, but my dad and I saw the first episode last night on PBS. I did some research and found out that it's an old show, it was aired in 2005. But my dad and I really enjoyed it, and I found a YouTube channel that had all four episodes, so my dad and I can keep watching.

That is everything, but I do have some honorable mentions. Teen Wolf, it's reached its finale and I'm sad but I can't wait to see the episode. I haven't watched yet, so no spoilers. Star Trek Discovery, this just started last night, and I haven't seen it yet, but I'm excited. I grew up on Star Trek, so I'm excited to see where this goes.

See you on Wednesday with a story. It will more than likely be a pre-written one from one of my journals.

Cafe Meals

Persephone smiled as she saw Hades, he sat at the wrought-iron table outside the cute little cafe they both like. She sat down across from the God of the Underworld and enjoyed his silver-blue eyes widening.

"Hello Hades," she greeted as she looked at her husband.

"Persephone," Hades sighed as he looked at his now mahogany haired wife, he could see hints of blonde as the last day of summer ended. "Ready for autumn?"

She rose her chin as she her green eyes met his, "Always, besides, I have missed Cerberus. Spring and Summer are wonderful, but Autumn and Winter are the holidays that bring everyone closer together with Thanksgiving and Christmas."

Hades nodded his smile brightening at her observation. "I'm glad that I get to spend those holidays with you, along with Halloween and New Years," he reminded her before he took a sip of his coffee.

"Me too," she fondly replied as the waiter approached to take her order.

The Goddess of Spring and Queen of the Underworld smiled as she ordered a pumpkin spice latte with cinnamon waffles. As they waited for their food to arrive, the couple talked what had happened in the months that Persephone had been away from their home.

Hades held her hand in his own, gently brushing his thumb against her knuckles. He had missed her, the months where she was away were lonely. But these six months with her were the ones he cherished the most.

Back to School

With a final look in the mirror Kit looked at her outfit, her brown hair was tousled to keep the long dark brown strands away from her face. With a nod that it was a good outfit, Kit Swann sat in the burgundy armchair and placed her feet in boots. The zippers smoothing went up with a satisfied zipp sound. The brunette headed downstairs to see her dad and sister in the kitchen, she quickly joined her twin and father at the table.

She smiled as she saw the contents on her plate. "Thanks Liz," she told her sister as she happily dug into the french toast.

"You're welcome, Kit," Liz replied as she gave Kit a smile.

"Are you both excited for today? First day of senior year," their dad asked as he looked between the twins.

Kit and Liz peered at each other from the corners of their eyes. Kit nodded, while she chewed her breakfast, leaving Liz to answer the question.

"A little nervous, but it will be nice to see everyone who we didn't get to see over summer," Liz told their father as she took a sip of her orange juice.

"Good good," Warren Swann commented as he turned his attention back to the newspaper in front of him. While, Kit and Liz went back to their breakfast.

Soon, it was time for the Swann twins to depart for the day. Kit put her plate in the sink, before she ran towards the entryway. She grabbed her bag, and moved towards Liz's car, since her twin had wanted to drive for the first day.

Early Return

She sat in his lap, curled up against him. Her head rested on his shoulder, and listened as he breathed. Cerberus sat at Hades feet, his three heads all fast asleep from the excitement of the day. Persephone returned happily to Hades, leaving the summer for the autumnal start.

Slow Creep

slowly almost unnoticeable
the temperature begins to fall
one degree or two every few days

soon, the sweaters appear
along with the thicker pants
the boots that vary in height
join the collection
scarves and hats in tones of
mauve and burgundy

the wind blows the golden
leaves from their branches
the crisp crunch which jolts
the senses when stepped upon
brings a smile

the tea mugs sing
as they are filled with tea
green tea with lemon
vanilla chai
caramel apple

autumn has begun its slow creep
into the summer, with nary
a whisper

Kit and James

"James," Katherine sighed as she looked at the familiar face. She hadn't seen James in a few months, her heart beat a little faster at the sight of him.

"Kit, are you all right?" James asked as he looked at the soft brunette who was trapped behind steel bars.

Kit sent him a wary smile, "I'm fine. Where have you been? We couldn't find you after you left."

James reached out and held one of her hands. "You wouldn't believe me, and I'm just happy to be home. Let's see if we can get you out of here," he said as he pulled the keys from his pocket.

Lost Sibling

two stood together
twins they were called
one east
the other west

siblings, strong as ever
until one day

that fateful day
sixteen years passed

a lost sibling
gone
fallen
in fiery ruins

she weeped for the
loss of her twin
but she stood
tall and strong for her

now as the years have passed
she stands in memory for her lost sibling
ready to face the world and what's to come

Scorned Woman

Artemis looked at Adam and Damon Cross with a raised eyebrow as they stood in front of her desk. "Well, well, if it isn't los hermanos Cruz (the Cross brothers)," she commented as she tilted her head to sneer at the duo.

"Artemis," Damon acknowledged with a slight nod. His eyes meeting hers and silently pleading for her help.

"What do you want?" she demanded in an annoyed tone. When she had parted ways with brothers, they had made it clear that they did not trust her. She had been abandoned by the two people who she had ever called friends. The betrayal stung as she looked from one brother to the other, neither of them seemed comfortable in her presence.

"We need your help," Damon answered as he took a hesitant step forward.

"No," she said as she turned away to look out the window behind her. The blinds open, allowing her to see the setting sun, in all of it's glory. The skyline was a dark red ombre that faded into a lilac gold as the twilight hour began.

Damon froze as he looked at the huntress in surprise. "But--" he started.

"No, whatever mess you and your pendejo hermano (idiot brother) got yourselves into is for you to solve on your own. That was why you both forced me to leave the compound. Neither of you wanted to help me when I needed it. In fact I distinctly remember a death threat somewhere in your words," she interrupted as she spun around to glare at the brothers.

"Get out," she coolly demanded as she pointed a finger at the door behind the pair. "You're not welcome here."

"Artemis," Damon pleaded as he looked at her.

"Get out!" At her command the brothers flew out the door. Each colliding into the wall outside before slumping into the ground.

The door closed firmly in front of the duo, while Artemis took deep breathes to try and calm herself down. Her abilities rarely worked, only when she was too emotional, did they manifest. Seeing the Cross brothers brought a flood of emotions she didn't want to dwell on ever again.

Honest Ramblings (Journal 1)

There are days like today where my brain can't focus. It slips and changes. Concentration... well that's not happening. It's flown out the window like wisp in wind. Distractions are evident everywhere, my thoughts can't stay on a single idea. Growling from my stomach makes the task more daunting. Here I am writing for the day without an idea. I'm simply rambling as I try to focus on anything other than how tired I feel or my grumbling stomach that wants to eat a bowl of Count Chocula.

Inspiration has struck like lightning. Rambling blog posts, kind of like diary entries. Just of whatever I'm feeling or going through... Only for those days like today where I can't focus. I want to blame the smoke filled air for my scattered brain.

Memories and Reunions

Season 1 Ep 1: Wolf Moon
[Ellen]

I stood in line behind my friend Selene (Jelli this is you!) as I waited for my turn to sign the library book shelf that held the school's previous library years.

"I'm so excited Elle. After this day we'll officially be seniors," Selene said as she bounced on her feet.

I shook my head at my best friend."We were already seniors when last year's seniors graduated," I told her with a smile as we moved forward.

"True, but this just make it even more official you know," She said as she looked at me. "Besides this is a piece of our legacy that we're leaving behind."

"True, but I can't help but feel bad. I mean, David never got the chance to do this," I tell her with a sad smile. The tears start to sting as I think about my older brother, who died when I was seven.

He had been twelve at the time of the accident. The accident that had taken not only my big brother but also my mom and dad. I had been left as an orphan that day, and my uncle, Beacon Hills' current Sheriff had been the one to tell me.

Selene looked at me with a sad smile. "Sorry, I forgot," she said as she pulled me into a hug.

I wrapped my arms around her. "It's alright. I'm just being sentimental," I tell her. I pull away, as I notice just much closer we are. We're only a few people away from the front now.

"It's totally rational to be, especially for all of the milestones that you've gone through," Selene told me a firm nod.

I laughed at her. She was right, like always. "Look you're next," I tell her as we were now literally in front of the shelf.

She took the pen and signed her initials on the shelf. "There," she stated as she held out the pen for me.

I took the pen and glanced at the shelf. I quickly spotted a familiar set of initials DH. The handwriting was his. I looked just below his initials to see in the same bold script DN.

I quickly place EAN next to the DH initials. Then, I walked away, while wiping the tear from my cheek.

Selene walked with me out of the library. It was a somber moment for us. "Did you see David's initials?" I asked as we walked through the hallways back to the parking lot.

"Yeah, do think he did them before... you know," Selene trailed off.

The Hale Fire was a bit of a taboo subject in Beacon Hills. It was a subject that none of us really knew how to talk about it.

As we reached the parking lot, I looked at her. "Yeah, I think he did. The handwriting was the same. And they were best friends, so it makes sense that Derek would put David's initials there. I think most people forget that Derek lost his best friend," I replied as we moved towards our cars.

"Well, at least we know that David wasn't forgotten. I'll see in the morning," Selene said as she pulled me in for another hug. I smiled as I pulled away from my best friend.

"Yup, I'll see you in the morning," I tell her as I get into my audi. It had been a birthday gift to myself with my inheritance money.

I watched Selene pull away from BHHS parking lot. As I followed her car, my thoughts wandered to Derek and where he was.

It was a short drive from the high school back to my uncle's house, where I had lived since the accident. I pulled into my spot, and didn't see Stiles' Jeep, I wasn't sure where he could have gone but I too concerned.

Just as I climbed out of my car, Stiles' familiar blue Jeep pulled into the driveway with the cruiser just behind it. I winced at that the realization that whatever Stiles had done, must have been involved with Uncle Noah's job.

"Hey Stiles," I greeted as he climbed out of his Jeep.

"Ellen," he said in surprise as he looked at me with wide eyes.

"Inside Stiles, now," Uncle Noah ordered as he got out of the cruiser, his finger pointed at the front door. I frowned at Stiles kicked puppy face, but I knew that my uncle would not fall for it.

I moved to stand beside my uncle, as Stiles shuffled inside. His pace was slow and reluctant, he had done something to upset Uncle Noah, but I didn't have a clue.

With the door shut, I looked up at Uncle Noah, his green eyes full of frustration. "What did he do this time?" I asked as listened to Stiles climb up the stairs to his room.

Uncle Noah sighed in frustration, before he answered. "I found Stiles when the department and I were out searching. He's been listening in on my phone calls again."

I rolled my eyes and shook my head. "Sorry to hear about that Uncle Noah, are you going back out?"

"Nope, I called it a night, we'll continue the search in the morning. While, both you and Stiles are at school," he answered as he nudged me towards the door. I gave in to the not so subtle hint.

"Night Uncle Noah," I said as I climbed the stairs to get ready for bed.

I quickly went through my nightly routine before I clamored up into my bed, and fell asleep against the grey comforter.

In the morning, I woke up and got ready for my classes. I was nervous about starting my first day of classes, but I knew that I would be okay, as we would probably go over rules and the syllabus for the semester.

I had gone through my classes quickly, I was more nervous about going to Beacon Hills Preserve later today. Stiles, my cousin, had volunteered himself and me to help Scott McCall on of our friends to go and help find his inhaler.

I was already upset with Stiles about going out to the preserve alone last night, while his father (and my Uncle, the town Sheriff mind you) was out there working. Some joggers had found half of a body last night, and Stiles being Stiles, had taken it upon himself and Scott to go and look for the other half.

Scott got bit last night, while Stiles didn't believe that it was wolf. I knew exactly what had bitten Scott... It was a werewolf, an alpha to be more specific. I had thought that I was the only Alpha wolf in Beacon Hills but if there was a new Alpha in my territory there would be a fight and soon. There was no way that there could be two alphas in one area without a fight for territory. I had shivers running up and down my spine for most of the day.

The final bell of the day rang, allowing all of us Seniors in Mr. White's English class to leave. Selene and I headed towards our lockers, we were both chatting about our classes.

"Hey wanna go for a snack at BHP?" Selene asked as I sorted through my stuff that was in my locker, deciding what to take home and what to leave.

"I can't, Stiles needs my help with something. So, I'm going to be with him and Scott. Maybe tomorrow?" I asked as I looked at my BFF.

She looked fabulous as always, while I was wearing a floral skirt, white sleeveless shirt, my brown leather jacket, with some black knee high socks and my light brown booties. I hated being so short, I practically live in heels and wedges.

"For sure, tomorrow then. I'll see you later, lovely," Selene said as she sprinted down the hall.

"See you tomorrow, S," I called with a wave as I headed in the opposite direction towards the parking lot. I smirked as I raised an eyebrow to see Scott and Stiles leaning against my car.

I sighed and shook my head, before pressing the unlocked button on my keys. Stiles smiled at me as he opened the passenger door and got in. Scott quickly climbed into the back seat.

I moved quickly towards my car. "Hi guys," I said as I got in, tossing my bag in the backseat with Scott.

"Hey, Elle," both them replied.

"Remind me again, why are we taking my car to the Preserve?" I asked as I checked to see that I was clear to leave the parking lot. I pulled out of my spot and drove towards the Beacon Hills Preserve. I pulled up in front of the No Trespassing sign, I so didn't want to do this but Stiles and Scott weren't going to give up.

"Do I really have to go?" I asked as I looked at the pair.

"Yes," Stiles said. I sighed and got out of the car. I knew that if I didn't Stiles would be tempted to pull me out.

We walked through the woods, while Scott tried to recall where exactly he had dropped his inhaler. Stiles made the inevitable werewolf joke, I cringed because I knew it was true. Stiles didn't even realize that he was living with one.

"This is it, this is where I lost my inhaler last night," Scott said as we came to a stop. I looked around me, there wasn't anything but leaves on the ground. A faint scent that was familiar to me, it was close.

I looked up to see a pair of green eyes that I didn't think I would ever see again. I quickly tapped Stiles on the shoulder to get his attention.

Stiles looked up with wide eyes as he saw that we were being watched. Stiles quickly poked Scott, Scott paused in his searching to look up and see Derek Hale.

"What are you doing here? Huh?" he asked as he looked at the three of us. "This is private property."

"Nothing, we were just looking for something. Never mind," Scott said as he turned to look at Stiles and I.

I couldn't believe that I was seeing Derek. I hadn't seen him since he had left Beacon Hills. My heart was starting to hammer in my chest at seeing Derek.

Derek tossed something, which Scott quickly caught in his hand. Stiles and I looked to see that it was Scott's missing inhaler.

"Dude, that was Derek Hale," Stiles pointed out to Scott and myself.

As if I could forget Derek Hale.

Missing Ginger Snaps (TAG)

The sun felt warm against sixteen year old Ella's skin, her mahogany hair shined a more vibrant red in the light. A happy sigh fell from...
